Flyers and Posters

Flyers can be used in a wide variety of ways but they’re most often announcements posted in public areas used to create awareness of an upcoming event such as a store grand opening or concert tour. It’s not too often that you’ll see posters of products but they can be useful sales aides for in-store displays especially when combined with a take-away hand card or brochure detailing the product specifications, top selling points and purchasing instruction or action.

A flyer or poster should not only be eye catching and appeal to your target audience but once you have their attention you’ll need to communicate your important details – the who, what, when, where and sometimes why of your event or promotion, and your contact information.

When it comes to posters and flyers we value:

White Space
White space is not only an area for your eyes to rest it also draws the eye to an important piece of information. There are exceptions to every rule, but a large bold heading floating in a sea of smaller text won’t draw as many eyes as the heading alone.

Visual Organization
We group your information and organize it into a sensible hierarchy considering what a viewer will want to know and when they’ll want to know it.  As far as content for your poster or flyer less is definitely more.  Text heavy posters are less appealing, think of walking down the street are you very likely to stop and stand there reading for five minutes? No, you’re probably going to glance at it if it draws your attention at all.  To be effective posters and flyers need to be concise.

Bold Colour Use
In a sea of typical black posters your colourful poster stands out immediately and when you’re paying for full-colour printing you might as well take advantage of it.  On top of the visual effect full colour backgrounds are a way to increase ink coverage making outdoor posters (that won’t be laminated) a little more weather resistant since the ink repels water far more than the paper alone.

Printing: Prices and Quantities

Print prices are volume based – the more units you have printed at one time the less you’ll pay per unit. It doesn’t happen too often but there are occasions when a particular paper is discontinued and discounted and we work hard to keep our clients informed of these special opportunities.

We work with a group of trusted printing partners whom we recommend to all our clients as they offer quick turnaround times, and consistently deliver superior quality printed products at competitive prices. We’ve worked together for years on countless projects and we recommend these particular printers because they’ve earned our complete trust.

To find print pricing we first recommend a paper type, then determine the quantity or range of quantities required, and contact our printers for current quotes for the job which include prices and turnaround times.  All printing quotes are valid for 60 days.

For clients using our printers we manage the entire process, delivering the artwork to the printer, proofing the file setup for print, and when the job is complete we offer complimentary delivery of your marketing materials to your business or billing address.

If you choose to work with your own printer you will be managing the printing process directly with your printer. Prior to starting work on a design for print you’ll need to supply us with their complete printing specifications including their preferred file formats, bleed sizes, and minimum resolutions. Once the artwork is complete we’ll prepare the file for print to the specifications supplied and deliver it to you electronically.
